Q: When can I register for soccer?
A: Registration is open from March 1, 2009 to April
30, 2009. Registrations after that date will be assessed a $50 late. Q: How do
I register?
A: All
registrations are completed on line by accessing your Community Pass account or by visiting www.ridgewoodsports.org. Q: Where can I find specific details about RSA programs?

Q: If my child withdraws can
I get refund?
A:
The RSA must make financial commitments for uniforms, fields, equipment, insurance, league fees, etc. by the end of
June. Due to this we do not issue refunds after July 5th. Refunds issued
prior to the deadline are assessed a $10 processing fee. Q: What equipment is required for my child to participate?
A: Shin guards are mandatory for all players
regardless of age. Cleats are recommended but not required for players in 1st through 4th
grade. Cleats are mandatory for 5th through 12th grade players. Players in 1st grade receive t-shirts and soccer balls, 2nd grade
players receive t-shirts. Players in 3rd through 12th grade receive t-shirts, shorts
and socks. Special Needs players receive t-shirts and soccer balls. Q: Where do I send the required photo and/or birth certificate?

A: Materials must be
received by May 31, 2009.
Q: Why is it necessary to provide
a photo for travel players?
A: The RSA participates in the NWBSA league. Based on league rules, the coach of each
travel team is required to present a player pass with photo to the referee at the beginning of each game for all team members.
Without a photo pass, the referee will not allow the player to participate in the game. Q: When does the season begin and end?
A: The season begins on Saturday,
September 5 and runs through mid-November.
Q: Are there practices in addition
to games?
A:
Practices are scheduled one weekday evening for 5th and 6th grade in-town players and all travel
players. Day of the week is determined based on coach and field availability. Check
the schedule link on this web site after August 20th for exact days and times.
Q: When are games played?
A: Games are played
on Saturdays for 1st through 6th grade in-town programs. Girls 5th through
8th grade travel teams play on Saturdays. Boys 5th through 8th grade travel
teams play on Sundays. High School teams play on Sundays. Q: When will I be notified of team assignment?
A: All players should be notified of team assignment by September
1st.
Q: How will I know if a game
is cancelled due to poor weather conditions?
A: Call the RSA weather hot line – 201.345.4221 for information about field or program
changes due to weather conditions. Also check the field/schedule changes section of this web site. Q: How do I volunteer to coach?
A: Coaches for all age levels are always
welcome. You can register to coach by accessing your family account in Community Pass or by visiting www.ridgewoodsports.org. Q:
If I want to coach what are the requirements?
A: The Rutgers Safety Course is recommended for all coaches and is required for travel coaches.
Other than that, the desire to interact with the kids and have fun is all that is required. Q: Where can I find the schedule for the Rutgers Safety Course?

Q: Is my child eligible to referee?
A: You MUST be in 6th
grade or higher and have played at least 1 year of traveling soccer (RSA, MSC or other travel program where licensed referees
are used). Eligible referees can register using their family Community Pass account or by visiting www.ridgewoodsports.org. Q: Who do I contact regarding financial assistance?
A: The RSA believes no child should be denied participation due to financial stress on a family.
If such is the case, please contact our registrar at registrar@ridgewoodsoccer.org with a personal note explaining
the circumstances and the RSA will consider a fee adjustment.
Q: I am interested in joining
the RSA board of directors. Who should I contact?
A: Send a note to registrar@ridgewoodsoccer.org expressing your interest and the RSA president will contact you. Q: I would like to make a tax deductible donation. How would I go about doing
this?
