PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY

The RSA is dedicated to

• developing our children’s ability to play soccer
• promoting good sportsmanship
• enjoyment for all who wish to participate in our programs
• encouraging community involvement through participation of older children from the Ridgewood, where possible, as clinicians and as referees

As such, the RSA program is a recreational program open to all interested, eligible youth from Ridgewood.  The RSA recognizes that winning in match play is an important part of the children’s fun and the RSA requires coaches to keep the contests close for the enjoyment of all involved.  Our focus is on fun, teaching the game, and developing good sportsmanship rather than on winning.  The RSA does not track team records or individual scoring.

Strong family and community relationships are forged through participation of parents in the program as trustees, coaches, team volunteers and, most importantly, as game day supporters.
