5th AND 6th GRADE (DIVISION 4) INTOWN PROGRAM Players in this age group are usually eligible to participate in an in-town program (see below) and/or a traveling recreation program. Please choose the right program for your child.
This in-town soccer program is held at
various fields in the village on Saturdays. Each of the sessions has approximately 120
registrations annually. Starting times vary each week. Check
the website for more information. The 5th and 6th grade in-town program is designed to further develop the soccer skills of intermediate players. The overall goals of the program are to enable the participants to have fun while enhancing their soccer skills. Developing skilled soccer players who exhibit sportsmanship, teamwork and a sense of fair play defines the philosophy of the program. The games are small-sided, 7 v 7 matches on shortened fields. This type of game (number of players and field size) is designed to reinforce team skills and tactics and helps transition the players into 11 v 11 games on full size fields. Practices will be held on one weekday each week, run by professional trainers and attendance is expected of all players. All players receive a shirt, shorts, and socks. Soccer shoes (molded plastic or rubber cleats only – no football/baseball style cleats) and shin guards are mandatory. Players and coaches will be notified of team assignments during the summer |
