THE TRAVELING RECREATION PROGRAMS
The traveling programs are recreation programs for older players. Teams participate in 11v11
(full-sided, full-field) games run under the auspices of The
Northwest Bergen Soccer Association.
Away games are usually within 20 minutes of
Practices may be scheduled by the coach, but most traveling teams begin practices in August. Teams usually have one or more practices per week once the season begins. Additional clinics with professional trainers are also offered. The purpose of these clinics is to build awareness of space and player positioning on a full-sized field, develop team strategies, and continue building individual skills. Players receive a shirt, shorts, and socks. Soccer shoes (molded plastic or rubber cleats only – no football/baseball style cleats) and shin guards are mandatory. All players and coaches on traveling teams must submit a photo with their registration. Players will be notified of team assignments during the summer. There are usually 150 boys and 150 girls from Ridgewood registered in the traveling program annually.
